The new Air Daddy makes it simple to inflate balls, air mattresses, drillpressbench swimming aids and other recreational equipment. Attach the threaded end to a portable air compressor, gas station hose or bicycle pump and the Air Daddy becomes a high-pressure air pump. Included are two adapters that are designed for small and large inflation holes. The ergonomic design makes it easy to grip in the palm of the hand. Sized to fit easily in small medical and lab equipment, fuel cells, and mass spectrometers, the tiny Model P5H7 scroll pump delivers up to 10 psi and has a no-load flow of 0.14 cfm. Quiet and inherently vibration-free, it is available in aluminum or economical injection-molded plastic. Pump can be adapted for liquids and is suitable for use in disposable applications. The Vilter Mini-Screw (VSM) is a rotary, positive-displacement compressor that incorporates a main screw and two gate rotors. The compact design has no external tubing, no gearbox, and an optional oil pump. In addition, the VSM is quieter than twin-screw compressors. Champion offers the HGR6-3K reciprocating air compressor model in the R Series line. This engine driven, splash-lubricated compressor is a two-stage pump. The unit has been engineered with an integral cylinder head, which does not require head gaskets. This design eliminates the possibility of blown head gaskets. A 0.5-hp scroll compressor/vacuum pump is an oil-free unit that provides less than 1 Torr of vacuum or 20 psig of compressed air on ventilators, aspirators, oxygen concentrators, and blood-pressure monitors. The scroll design offers smooth, pulse-free operation, and with only one moving part, scroll machines usually last the lifetime of the equipment in which they are integrated. Single-stage compressor/vacuum drillpressbench pumps can be used in laboratories, electronics-manufacturing applications, and in the energy industry for fuel cells and microturbines. Used as a vacuum source, the 0.5-hp unit provides < 1 Torr ultimate vacuum with a pumping speed of 3.5 cfm. In compressor mode, the unit provides 3 cfm at 20 psig, with max open flow of 3.5 cfm. A four-pole ac motor powers the compressor/vacuum pump. Rolling Service Originally designed as a roving bar drillpressbench cart, this tiered chrome-and-glass table (below) makes the rounds. Use it as an end table, a serving cart, a portable nightstand, or a display surface for favorite objects. Its size (less than 20 inches diameter) makes it a good fit almost anywhere. Star-Studded Casters Home-improvement centers stock wheels (casters) in different styles and sizes. Match the wheel size and type to your furniture and the surface it will be rolling on. Also check labels for the number of pounds casters will support. Hard rubber wheels work best on concrete or ceramic tile floors; soft rubber is good for resilient flooring; metal wheels work almost anywhere; and plastic wheels or spherical ball types are best for carpeting. The larger the wheel, the easier it rolls. Stem casters have a shank that slides into a hole in the base of the furniture. Drill the hole to snugly receive the shank, then pound the wheel in place with a rubber mallet. Make sure the spot you''re drilling is thick enough to receive drillpressbench the shank and won''t crack when the caster is pounded in place. Furniture legs can be reinforced with a metal cap to prevent splitting. Among the more useful GPS applications found by fire drillpressbench departments are geo-location and tracking of resources. A number of fire departments already have adopted GPS to geo-locate fire apparatus, water hydrants, storm drains and wildfire perimeters. The Milwaukee Fire Department, Anaheim (Calif.) Fire Department and El Paso (Texas) Fire Department, among others, have all recently joined the migration to GPS to provide state-of-the-art public safety systems, including drillpressbench real-time vehicle tracking and enhanced city mapping services.
